If you’re feeling curious and up for a little adventure this Sunday, join Inna Alesina and my friend Yana Karp for a fun and educational Invasive Fruit Leather Workshop.
Date: Sunday, September 7
Time:
• 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Foraging Walk
• 1:00 PM: Fruit Leather-Making Demo
We’ll begin near the JCC in Owings Mills with a short demonstration on how to identify and harvest invasive autumn olives — a plant that’s both ecologically impactful and surprisingly tasty.
After foraging, we’ll head to my home ( 3 minutes drive) for a more in-depth demonstration on how to turn the berries into delicious and healthy fruit leather.
Please wear long pants and long-sleeved tops, as we’ll be walking through brushy areas.
Also, bring a large bag or container for gathering fruit.
Hope to see you there,
Inna
Here is a marked location at the parking lot where we meet:

I am so bummed I can’t make this. I will be volunteering at the Takoma Park Folk Fest tomorrow, but I’d love to join if you do something like this again in the future!
