The Low Carbon Spaceship: Passive Architecture After Cheap Energy
November 25 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am EST

A passive house is air-tight and highly insulated—so thermally efficient that, ideally, you don’t need to install any mechanical heating at all. But does this strategy return dwellers to their environment or liberate them from it? What design traditions does it emerge from?
In this conversation, EDC Curator, Michael Degani sketches a cultural history and analysis of the passive house and invites discussion around how such projects negotiate historically toxic energy infrastructures.
This online seminar is presented as part of the EDC’s ongoing exploration of this year’s theme: Antidotes to Toxicity
