Whose Earth (Day)?

April 22 @ 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm EDT

Vital Matters is excited to host the 5th Annual Whose Earth (Day)?
Where: Lower Gwynns Falls Park
When: April 22nd, 4:30-7:30

We have always held our Whose Earth (Day)? event in The Jones Falls watershed, at Ivy Bookshop on Falls Road. Our Crossways project, a long-term collaboration with communities across 4 watersheds in Baltimore City, has the same question at its heart: “Whose Earth Is It?”

This year we invite you to meet members of Gwynns Falls Community who are working with us on this project, and the land and water where they live. Help us ask questions like, how can our processes of decision-making, designing, and maintaining our public green spaces and the waterways that run through them be more democratic, community-based, and hyper-local?

Tell us YOUR STORIES of water, city parks, construction and more. What watershed do you live in or grew up in? How have construction projects affected your green spaces and waterways? What futures can you dream for your part of Baltimore?

Bring the whole family, and join Crossways team members Rejjia Camphor (Sister Stream Catcher), Sanahara Ama Chandra, and Michele Minnick. Come out and meet your neighbors for a gathering focused on stewardship and community care, including a trash pick-up, water rituals, watershed stories, and a potluck picnic! All ages are welcome!

Vital Matters is an arts-based interdiciplinary laboratory for change focusing on climate and environmental justice, water health and human wellness. Go to our website (www.vitalmatters.net) or our IG page (@_vital_matters_) to learn more.
