Outdoor Potluck: An EDC Grounding Event

Can’t get enough of the autumnal weather? Join us for a delightful day of good food and great company at the Wyman Park Dell. We’re having an outdoor potluck!

The theme for the potluck is local food (broadly construed). Local food connects us to our land, season, and community. It brings us closer to our cultural heritages, telling stories of traditional recipes and the people behind them. This theme invites us to engage with our surroundings, appreciate the flavors of our home regions, and connect with local farmers and producers. Share a dish that exhibits what local food means to you!

What to Bring:

• Please prepare a dish that highlights local ingredients. It could be anything from a savory entrée to a delicious dessert!
• A note about your dish and the local ingredients used.
• Picnic blankets and supplies.

This event is a continuation of the EDC’s 2024-25 itinerary for “Reimagining Land,” anchored in a monthly series of “Groundings” that explore Baltimore’s ecology, history, and contemporary placemaking efforts through experiential events.

Itinerary:

We will meet at the northeast corner of the Wyman Park Dell at noon and then make our way into the park to find a picnic spot. At 12:20 pm we will present our dishes and talk about how they connect to the theme of local food. Then we feast!
