Nature and the Healing Arts: Poetry and Prose from the Mid-Atlantic Ecosystem

April 29 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm EDT

Join us for a two-day virtual celebration of Earth Day that brings together science, literature, and ecological imagination. This event features a vibrant community of poets, writers, and scholars whose work engages with the natural world across the Mid-Atlantic and beyond.
On Wednesday, April 29, Nature and the Healing Arts: Poetry and Prose from the Mid-Atlantic Ecosystem will showcase readings from over ten contributors, including participants from the Ecological Design Collective and the Nature of Our Times initiative. Through poetry and short prose, presenters will reflect on landscapes, ecosystems, and the interconnections between human and nonhuman life.
On Thursday, April 30, join us for A Conversation with The Nature Record, an engaging discussion that explores the role of creative practice in documenting, interpreting, and responding to environmental change.
Co-sponsored by the Johns Hopkins P.O.E. Total Worker Health Center in Mental Health and the Ecological Design Collective, and presented in collaboration with Paloma Press and Nature of Our Times, this public event invites audiences to reflect on ecology, creativity, and care in a time of planetary urgency.
Both sessions will be held via Zoom.
