CFP Ethics and the Environment Special Issue
CALL FOR PAPERS—Holmes Rolston III Tribute Issue
We are deeply saddened at the passing of pioneering environmental ethicist and Ethics & the Environment founding board member Holmes Rolston III (1932-2025), whose immense contributions to the genesis and development of American environmental philosophy began in the 1970s and continued until very recently. We miss him and accordingly wish to honor his contribution. Ethics & the Environment is therefore inviting papers for a special issue in honor of Holmes Rolston and his work. We welcome submissions on the full range of Rolston’s philosophical, theological and biological writings.
Submission deadline: August 22nd 2025.
Possible topics include Rolston’s writings on nature, wildness, value theory, endangered species, ecotheology, genetics, technology and other relevant topics. We encourage submissions offering exploration of the intertwining elements and complexities of Rolston’s thought.
Manuscripts may be submitted as word files via e-mail to the managing editor Melissa Link at eande@uga.edu. For matters of style, consult The Chicago Manual of Style. Upon acceptance, an abstract of 100 words will be required.
