ECO-ART Walk – A potential meet-up in Washington D.C.
We are planning a visit to Georgetown University’s “EcoArt Walk” – with a combined visit to either the National Portrait Gallery’s upcoming exhibition – “Forces of Nature: Voices that Shaped Environmentalism” and/or John Akomfrah’s “Purple” at the Hirshhorn.
Question: Who is interested in going? & When are the best, most convenient times to plan a trip?
Also – for thought…
In our planning – it prompted a discussion: Is it “good” art? Does it have to be? Is it “effective” toward bringing awareness or changing attitudes towards the environment and sustainable futures? Are some artworks more “effective” or “better” than others? And how would one measure that?
