    Background & Role
    The Postdoctoral Assistant will work on the JUSTLAND project. The project will contribute to the design and implementation of just policy interventions in the Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Use (AFOLU) sector. To achieve its aims and objectives, the project has two strands. Firstly, it will provide a political ecology analysis of changing land ownership in Ireland.

    The second core strand of the project is enabling community-led transitions, in support of the government’s aims for social dialogue as underpinning the transition. This strand will include examining existing projects and initiatives in Ireland that are environmentally and socially just; provide a review of alternatives from other countries to enable lesson-learning for solutions in the Irish context and run workshops with local communities to gather insights on local expertise on place-based approaches to land use in their areas.
