Group Description
Meeting hybridly about twice a month, we are a working group based at Johns Hopkins that together reads, discusses, and appreciates recent scholarship from environmental humanities. Over the past few months, we’ve discussed important works like Hi’ilei Hobart’s “Cooling the Tropics,” Bob Morissey’s “People of the Ecotone,” and Alexis Shotwell’s “Against Purity.” With each text, we become more aware of the implications of the research and teaching we perform for our students and broader community.
