You know, about a week ago, I heard a large juice jug rolling down my street and honestly, it really did sound like music to my ears. It was like a marching band was around the corner, or like I was transported back to see my African ancestors performing drumming.

I ended up taking the jug in my house and recycling it. However, I wondered the other day, if I had left it out there, who else may have also discovered such “tingles?”

    Thanks for sharing your idea!

    Hi Alexi,

This is such a cool idea. I am reminded of my last year of college back in 2019. I wanted to make a kind of dollhouse with elements capturing my childhood foundations and such. One of my inspirations at the time, which I put in my visual bibliography was:

    Janine Antoni’s 2009 ‘Inhabit’ piece.

I am excited to explore more of your inspirations. Also, happy to talk more!

    Hi Timothy,

I think your idea is interesting. As someone engaged in preservation and storytelling work, I love the idea of wanting to create a sort of “yellow pages” guide that indexes and highlights those doing the work of countering toxicity. I am curious about the content and style such a guide would take; Would it include portraits of the people? Would their stories be written out like an interview conversation or like an acrostic or concrete poem? It reminds me of other recent projects like Baltimore Heroes and the Chicory Revitalization Project (which I am apart of) that seek to combat the toxicity of erasure and honor our interconnectedness, which smalltimore has a way of doing somehow!
