Black Yield Institute and members of the EDC held an “On the Water” community building event last Saturday. Our goal is to foster new relationships with each other and the water as we work toward a community-led aquaculture project.
Artist Stephen Bradley and scientist Eric Schott brought their BioBuggy: a mobile microscope that displays and prints the magnified images. We saw shrimp, barnacles, seaweed, fish scales, a feather, and even a pregnant crab! A picnic lunch from Land of Kush, foraged mulberries, and good tunes made for a perfect afternoon. We didn’t even need the four leaf clover to know how lucky we were!
