The EDC invites proposals for digital events exploring the themes of Reimagining Land—an ongoing 2024–2025 itinerary that critically examines how land is shaped, contested, and reimagined through ecological, historical, and creative practices. Honoraria and other support will be available.
Through this initiative, EDC seeks to engage with land as both a material and symbolic space—one that carries histories of dispossession and resistance, ecological transformation, and speculative futures. Reimagining Land considers land not just as territory, property, or resource but as a site of deep cultural, political, and environmental entanglement. By fostering dialogue among artists, writers, designers, activists, and scholars, we aim to open new ways of thinking about how we inhabit, use, and care for land in the face of ongoing social and ecological change.
These virtual practitioner conversations, taking place in March, April, and May 2025, will extend the themes of Reimagining Land into an online space, complementing EDC’s Groundings series, which explores Baltimore’s ecology, history, and contemporary place-making efforts through experiential, site-based events. |
